There is a website www.oatmeal.com that has a column pertaining to words that sound alike but are spelled differently. Puts a funny spin on things. I am a member of the grammar and spelling police.

I hear that. One of my grammar peeves is the incorrect use of "then" and "than." Or worse, grammar spelled "grammer."

I was a teacher for many years, and I always felt I was fighting an uphill battle to get students to use correct grammar and spelling. All of today's ads which confuse less with fewer, I and me, and abbreviate everything in sight (site?) in the interest of brevity, make me increasingly glad to be a retiree.
