From a distance, packaging needs to function like a poster or point-of-purchase display. Up close, a package has elements of a user's manual. When well thought out and implemented, a package can support and promote a specific offering, a product line brand, and an umbrella (or master) brand. And while a package can help move people to make a decision, it also has to reinforce the decision after it's been made.
